The year 2019 will be a year of contrasts. Many are speaking of Suddenly, there are good suddenlies and bad suddenlies.

Good Suddenlies

Proposals, Raises, Gifts, Visitations….

Acts 2:2 KJV “And suddenly there came a sound as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with The Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as The SPIRIT gave utterance.”

Luke 2:13 KJV “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising GOD, and saying, Glory to GOD in the highest, and on earth, good will toward men.”

Acts 9:3 KJV “And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:”

Mark 9:8 KJV “And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save JESUS only with themselves.”

Acts 16:26 KJV “And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bands were loosed.”

Bad Suddenlies

Earthquakes, 911, Pearl Harbor…….

Mark 13:36 KJV “Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.”

Proverbs 6:15 KJV “Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly, suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.”

Isaiah 48:3 KJV “I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I showed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.”

Ecclesiastes 9:12 KJV “For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.”

How do we prepare for the Suddenlies?

Is our relationship with GOD current, up to date? Are we on a first name basis with GOD? Is JESUS welcome in our hearts and homes? Does HE know us? Do we know HIM? Knowing about HIM is not enough.

Matthew 7:22-23

“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in THY NAME? and in THY NAME hath cast out devils? And in THY NAME done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from ME, ye that work iniquity.”

We are not to “work” the word, GOD’S WORD is to work us, in us, through us, change us, re-arrange us, make us new, born again new.

Have we hidden HIS WORD in our heart, that we might not sin against HIM?

Our intimate relationship with HIM will guard us, prepare us and show us things to come. Relationships are based on communication. How much time do we spend with HIM in prayer, in communion, in HIS WORD?

When the Suddenlies come upon us it’s too late to read the Instructions….

I cry out to you NOW, Prepare, take Inventory……for the Storms are fast approaching.

Just as the meteorologists warn us of hurricanes, tornadoes and life threatening events in order for us to prepare, to make ready, so that we would not be caught off guard. GOD gives warnings to HIS people. These warnings are not to scare but to PREPARE.

HE told in advance
Left nothing to chance
To keep us from the enemy’s harm.
To our detriment we realize
We did not take heed
To the voice of one crying
To arise NOW and make Speed.
Make haste to hear HIS WORD of Warning
And find your place IN HIM
For the darkness is fast approaching
May the Oil in your Lamps not dim
May your heart be stayed upon HIS WORD
And Psalms 91 be your home
Rest in HIS Embrace
As HIS SPIRIT
Leads you on.
